Foam iron man end stages

Sorry about the lack of updates. Progress has been very slow lately. So slow I even managed to lose track of the days.

I have half made the mannequin and displayed it. It is a bit short so the legs are bending.

Iron man day 32 ish

Captains log: All the day's are merging into one. I come home from work and coat 1 layer of glue a day and leave it to dry. Total of 3 layers of pva glue, 2 primer and 2 paint. Still got the neck and boots left to do. Haven't even thought about the hands yet.

Iron man day 22

Sealed, primed and sprayed. Still looks lumpy. But that will do for a first build. Moral of the story: choose smooth foam

Iron man day 21

Since my lights have arrived I decided to do some sealing with pva glue. My lights have also arrived! Using el sheets for the light up eyes

Iron man day 20

Beef a slow few days! Took me 4 days to do most my legs. Running out of material so it's been slowwww!

Iron man day 14

I decided to glue the mask down as it fits better. If you guy want to make a openable mask, I would recommend using fibre glass and resin as sanding and making stuff fit would be a lotttttttttt easier. But hey ho, it's my first build so I'll move on.

Spent like a whole week to make this stupid ass helmet and it turned out meh. Fml

Iron man day 13

Spent 2 days working on this. Still not right. Slightly too big still. I'll try to resize this to 0.96 instead of 1.

Had to adjust the face plate a bit as the original template did not fit.

Iron Man Day 11

DAMMIT! This time I made it FAR FAR too big. Scaled it up to 1.1.

The reason it was soooo small last time was because it was trying to print a landscape template portrait. I adjusted the printer this time and hopefully it should turn out ok.

I will use the original scale again and see how that goes. Lets hope I get it right this time!

Iron man day 10

Just thought I'd give the 8mm camping mat a try on the helmet. It turned out pretty well. I am quite proud of my first attempt at the helmet! Down side is that it's a bit small also the faceplate seems a tiny bit short.

Got some major rescaling to do!

Iron man day 9

Took me a day each to complete the forearms. Here they are. Think I might start working on the helmet next. Or maybe the legs. Not quite sure

Iron man day 7

Haven't been working on this for a few days but got back into it now. Finished the biceps today and attached it to the shoulder piece.

It kinda looks like I'm wearing an American football armour.

Iron man day 6

The top half is nearly done! Made and attached the shoulders today. Also went shopping for supplies like Pva glue, some sprays, primer and fillers to fill the gaps.

Iron man day 5

Done the abs today. Starting to look like a suit! I think it's a tad big for me but we will have to see

Iron man day 4

Back piece completed last night. Layered a bit but it still looks pretty tacky. Tried putting the chest and back together but I'm not sure if it's correct...

Iron Man Day 3

Learnt from my mistakes. Much better result after using the heat gun! I must have used half the amount of glue I used for the first one...
